About Schuyler Achievement Academy:

About  300 students attend Schuyler Achievement Academy from Pre-K to 5th grade.  We are proud of our full-service model, which affords us the means to take care of the children’s academic needs as well as provide a range of health and wellness services.  These services include mobile dental health services through our partnership with the St. Peter's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, and school-based health services through our partnership with Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Services, in addition to mental health and other wellness services on premises.

Parents are involved in a variety of activities and services such as parent workshops, family counseling, Time Dollars reward program, serving on advisory boards and committees, and serving as 'room' parents.  Growth and Progress
(GAP) Fridays provide weekly enrichment activities school-wide.  Students started the 2007-08 academic year wearing uniforms as requested by parents.   This tradition continues for the new school year 2009-2010.  Principal Davis announced that we have a new logo that was designed to enrich our school spirit.  It has also been reported that many other public schools within the Albany City School District have following our lead to wear student and staff uniforms.

Philip J. Schuyler Achievement Academy opened its doors for the first time in September 2004, one of the first projects completed as part of the part of the City School District of Albany's comprehensive facilities plan approved by voters in 2001.  The renovated and expanded building is a blend of the school most recently known as Opportunity School 21 and a new structure added on to enlarge the school.  If you have time, please feel free to visit the Schuyler Photo Gallery for an inside look!  We are constantly adding new photos.
